Tracys All Day Lunch 5/8

Back to 1000 calories a day! Shoot for less, and end up about right! I've been messing around too much lately and I've dropped some good habits and replaced them with 'not so good', or 'could be better'! Thank goodness I still love good, healthy fresh foods and prepare most of my own food daily.

Menu

coffee, tea w/cream 120 cal.
small chili pepper stew w/chicken (I made this with Jen in SB!) 250 cal.
kale salad w/almonds (see Food and Thought for recipe) 300 cal.
apple w/ginger 60 cal.

Total 720

Although I want to average 1000-1250 cal. daily, this low calorie day was to offset a ginger snap cookie binge the day before. In the last 5 days, 3 of those days I was able to stay well within my range.

It's time, again, to seriously consider smaller portions, healthy foods or not.

I'm with you Tracy! Smaller portions and getting back to healthy food after a binge. Since the RKC, I've given myself permission much too often to eat foods that are not good for my body. I am paying the price today after a popcorn binge. Yuck! I haven't eaten anything today because my stomach is reeling. I've been drinking massive amounts of water, but the thought of food just makes me turn green.

Was it the Gluten Free Ginger Snaps from Trader Joe's? I did that the other day. 8-(

Tracy,
As always, thank you so much for the honesty of your posts. They keep me very grounded and keep me from feeling alone and "deprived". Before finding my way to the blogs of others, I felt like I was the only one in the world who had to keep my calories low and my eating clean to see results. Getting a glimpse of your life via the blog, though, tempers that and keeps me grounded.

Really the only foods that I eat that are 'junk foods' are my binge foods, and that is always sweets...although I have been known to binge on healthy foods too, like oatmeal, yogurt, nuts (for sure!).

I don't do the 'gluten free' anything, but I don't discriminate when it comes to ginger snaps! I eat them until the roof of my mouth is raw, and even the I find it hard to stop!

I love the triple ginger cookies in the bulk section of Whole Foods...I've got to stay out of the bulk section....or at least the one side with all of the goodies!
