My journey to lean, strong, athletic and fit through the miracle of progressive Kettlebell Swing Combination training. My food strategies to deal with weight loss, and compulsive overeating, after losing more than 100lbs., and maintaining such a tremendous weightloss for more than 4 years....
Seriously impressive endurance. Your combos are cool, they are a great example of what Pavel talked about in the first RKC ( still my favorite book ) manuel. Of using creativity to make up your own workout to fit your needs.
Tracy, I just read your post from Jan. 15, "Evolution of a diet". I am fascinated and inspired. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I wasn't sure who you were at first, but then when I went to your blog I totally remembered you from what Royce had told me. I can relate to so much. So much. The whole eating thing. You know. I can't seem to stay consistent. I hope we can talk more in the future. I will keep reading your blog. (how tall are you)
fallenangel, You are so cool! I should've known Royces wife had to be cool!
Anyway, I'm just over 5'3''.
After leaving my comment I thought "danm I wish I could get her to swing a KB! If I were you, I would get Royce to show you how to do a 2 hand swing, (I'm assuming he has a 26lb. although an 18 would be best to start with).
Start with NO weight! Just the motion of the swing, what Mark calls "air swings". If you over do it, your inside thighs will be very sore. If you do it wrong your knees will be sore.
Anyway when you're interested I can tell you more about starting KBs.
As far as yoga goes, I strongly suggest Bikram yoga. It's the heated style. It's not that difficult, the hardest part in the beggining is staying in the room for 90 min.! The second hardest part is getting strong enough to hold your arms overhead for a couple of mins.! Because of the heat you feel as if you are getting an awesome workout.
Anyway, it's great meeting you(sort of!)and be careful on that bike! Tracy
Thanks Tracy! I am dong these tonight. I've been reading your blog for awhile now and not only am I thorougly impressed...I'm also thoroughly inspired! Over the past 2 years I've lost 100#'s mostly with diet (maintained that loss is what's most amazing!) but still have more to lose. I started with the kettlebells in August, and the weight came off even more! It's truly amazing! Now if only I could make it through one of your workouts. ;) You make me believe it's possible! So Thanks a million!
jeng, WOW! Yeah! The magic of KBs is just starting for you, I'm so excited!
For the first time in my life I love, yes love, my body. Sagging parts and all! My confidence is amazing, too amazing according to Mark! And I know I owe to my KB training!
Seriously impressive endurance.
