Tracy's All Day Lunch
I was leaving for a 11 hour work day this morning with all of my day's food already prepped and packaged, so I clicked a few quick pictures of how and what I eat.
The top picture was everything sealed and ready to go, and then I took the lids off to show the contents. The bottom picture shows, from top left;
thermos of Peet's coffee (2 tsp. cream) 40 cal.
spinach w/tuna and dressing 300 cal.
tomatoes (4), for spinach and tuna salad, 80 cal.
veg stew w/black beans (1c., 140 cal.), & chicken (4oz, 200 cal.) divided into 2 containers
yogurt (3/4c. full fat banana 150 cal, 3/4c. nonfat 90 cal) 240 cal.
tbl. fiber (for yogurt) 20 cal.
3 stalks celery, 1 carrot 45 cal.
1 tbl PNB, 2 tbl. raisins 170 cal.
Total calories 1235
Add 60 cal. for morning cream and 100 cal. for 3 "nips" candies, total 1395.
A little low, but the night before I ate 1 pint of goats milk ice cream (700 cal) and jelly beans (300 cal.) at 6:30. In additon to eating a ton of stinkin fruit for the past 4 days, the figs and grapes have been out of control, in a good way, but still too much. Today was a NO FRUIT DAY!
Biggest lesson I seem to have to re-learn over and over....if you buy it, you'll eat it...so don't buy it! Tomorrow is a flea market day, I swear I'm only going to buy 1 lb. of grapes....I swear.
Life is good.
Love the food posts! I continue to learn from you, girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteLeslie, What a trip that I posted this while you were making your last comment! I'm glad you "caught" it!
ReplyDeleteMore food to come, I'm getting the hang of this camera/picture/blog thing! (thanks to Mark, King of the Blogoshere. LOL)
Tracy,
ReplyDeletePlease continue to add food/recipe posts. I love getting new ideas of how to create items for myself.
Tracy,
ReplyDeleteCould you post what is in your veg stew with black beans? sounds yummy!
Tracy,
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious. I have never tried Goat's Milk Icecream. Does it taste much different than regular icecream?
I totally agree with you on resisting bringing food in the house you shouldn't eat. It WILL get eaten. My husband bought ice cream on Sunday for my birthday. He said he had to buy both containers because it was buy 1 get 1 free. He said I would have been mad at him either way. He's probably right!
So of course it's only been a couple days and it's almost all gone!!! Ben's been eating most of it thank god, even though he's suppose to be on an all soup diet for his Ulcerative Colitis!
Lauren, If you let the ice cream melt, it becomes soup! LOL
ReplyDeleteHey Tracy,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me but my husband showed me your blog from a link on Dragon Door (I think that is where he found it). I enjoy reading your blog and I love the fact that there are people out there that have the same obsessions and crazies about food and exercise. Thanks for the inspiration. It is good to know there are others out there similar to me. :) Keep writing, Carrie
Happiness,
ReplyDeleteSo much food, so little time! It's hard to keep up!
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI think I'll make stew tomorroow morning...I'll take some pictures and give details about how I keep a "soup bar", (similar to salad bar!).
That means I'll be up at the crack of dawn, making sure it'll get done before I leave for the day, but it may not get posted until the evening.
Lauren,
ReplyDeleteI love Laloo's Goats Milk Ice Cream, because it has 140 cal. per serving, with no artificial sugars and full fat. The chocolate flavors are very rich, but I like the Mission Fig flavor the best.
I don't think it tastes different, but A friend of mine didn't like it at all, (?)
I like Lisa's idea about making ice cream soup, doesn't that count, lol?
Moxie,
ReplyDeleteWelcome, and thanks for the comments. Does your husband have you swinging a kettlebell yet?????
Lisa and Tracy,
ReplyDeleteVery funny about the ice cream soup! If Ben reads this post I'll never hear the end of it! He is on a strict chicken vegetable soup program to heal his whole track. But in his eyes I'm sure ice cream soup counts!!!
I will have to try this Goat Milks ice cream. To be honest it doesn't sounds that great. But I like to be adventurous.

ReplyDeleteYes, he bought me a 8kg and 12kg a couple of years ago. We love the full body work out it gives us. I am a PE teacher so I have to stay in shape and set a good example for the kids.
ReplyDeleteTracy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the food pictures and menus. It really helps me to know
I am not the only one striving to eat healthy.
Can you tell me which flea market has all the great produce? I went out to Capitol on Thursday but no one had any signs posted saying the produce was organic.
Fatima,
ReplyDeleteThe organics come from Santa Cruz flea on Sundays, there's only a few vendors that sell them. Santa Cruz also has, occasionally, regular people selling from their own gardens.
Some veggies are very difficult to get grown organically, even at Whole foods, like...any kind of chile peppers...red bell, jalapeno, pasilla, anaheim, etc..so I'll buy those at Capitol for cheap.
Also I'll buy grapes there, because one vendor has at least 6-8 varieties and they are always killer! I usually buy the small ones because the small ones keep me busy, (I can eat more and it takes me longer, besides being sweeter most times!)
Capitol will also have, sometimes, unusual produce. For instance I bought some white, baby eggplant last week. In those cases I'll try something new, even if it's not organic.
I hope this helps, Tracy
