Never one to resist a challenge, I had to just "get er done!" Here's the breakdown;
Set #1
12/12 x 20 = 20 min.
10/10 x 1 = 1 min.
500 snatches, 21 min.
3 min rest
Set #2
12/12 x 10 = 10 min.
240 snatches, 10 min.
1 min rest
Set #3
10/10 x 13 = 13 min.
260 snatches, 13 min.
1000 snatches, 48 min.
I wasn't sure about the rules, so I did put the weight down twice. The first time after a 21 minute set...I probably could've slowed down and kept going. The second, for only 1 min. between sets 2 & 3. Next time, if there is a next time, I'll do it with someone around...it's very difficult to concentrate and do the math, in fact, I was lucky to have met the goal prefectly. In actuality I thought I overshot it, to my surprise I hit it on the nose....Thank God!
As impressive as your previous March Swing Madness monster numbers are, this new feat is even more extraordinary. Whether you rested or not, or put the bell down a few times doesn't seem to tarnish this accomplishment in the slightest .. 1000 snatches, 48 mins w/12kg .. AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteCome on...I was just throwing ideas are around LOL!!! Obviously you are a no talk all action lady. Now Ill have to catch up. I had an unexpected flight this morning so I guess Ill give it a whirl tomorrow AM.
ReplyDeleteNone the less...great work!!!
Britt
Tracy
ReplyDeleteBack in the day a few of us(me, Whitely, Rob L., few others) did this with the 16kg (about = to you using the 12kg)without puttting it down. Only Cotter did it fast. We were mostly around an hour. Obviously if you don't put it down you have to baby your hands a bit more i.e. go slower.I find your "1000" to be 100% legit by any standard.
Apropos, I just made a sweet "snatching sock" by just cutting a thumb hole in really thin running sock, the "short no show" kind. Did 400 with the 16kg in 25 minutes to test it.
Nice work, as usual.
You're the woman! I thought doing 160 snatches in 10 minutes with the 16 kg was a lot. (Did that on Monday.) You truly inspire me Tracy!
ReplyDeleteWill you be at the April RKC? I'm going for my cert then. It would be great to meet you. I'm off to do my TGUs and 10 minutes of swings. Have a great weekend!
good lord woman! that is freaking unbelievable! I live with you and still can't beleive how easily you pull this stuff off. amazing.
ReplyDeletePLUS, its on top of these performances:
3/20 800 swings in 30 min( after 350+ snatches)
3/12 1010 swings in 30 min
3/10 1400 swings in 60 min
3/4 1500 swings in 60 min
2/29 1000 24 kg swings 60 min
that's quite a collection of workouts! well done Hon, I'm so proud :))
You are the woman to accomplish such a feat! I was so sure you were going to do it! Still I'm bowled over, it is simply incredible!
ReplyDeleteYou rule!
ReplyDeleteBill,
ReplyDeleteI talked to brett yesterday who said he had done 1160 snatches in one hour with the 16kg. amazing numbers for all.
Amazing Tracy! Very impressive!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Tracy! I am truly impressed and inspired...but not inspired enough to try to keep up with you ;-)
ReplyDeletefranklin,
ReplyDeleteMarch madness...I love it! I didn't plan it that way, but it seems to be a trend.
I ended up swinging again this afternoon with clients for about 20-30 min.
Britt,
ReplyDeleteThis workout was done after a 90 min., 104 degree, Bikram yoga class. Keep coming uo with ideas...I'm game!
I told you I had to get leaner...of course the 1/2 bag of chocolate covered, peanut butter filled pretzels isn't going to help!
Bill,
ReplyDeleteI think it is easier to never put the weight down. Once I stopped momentum, it was way harder to get back the groove.
I had never tried this before and didn't know what to expect. If I had someone with me, I know I would not have stopped.
I will eventually try 60 min nonstop and go for numbers. I think I can do it, and at only a10/10 pace that equals 1200.
And...my sock sleeve is definitely open to interpretation. I've used thinner socks, kids socks, I've had a client cut a thumb hole like you've described, etc.. When I thought of it, the idea was to have something that allowed the bell to slide, while protecting only a small part of the hand.
Amy,
ReplyDelete160 w/16kg is alot! I'm not sure I could do that! I'm so out of shape with the 16kg, but that's coming back soon!
I would love to come out to the April cert, but Mark is not teaching at that one, so I don't really have an excuse! I'll be out in MN in June, during the level 2 cert.
Gabi,
ReplyDeleteI didn't give it much thought I just went out and did it!
Working toward the 16kg though, now that will be something. I would be happy to be able to snatch the 16kg for time,(60 min) the numbers wouldn't be important!
jeng, & Fawn,
ReplyDeleteThanks!
colleen,
ReplyDeleteKeeping up with, or working up to...that's the difference between competition or inspiration! We all do our best, and we all have to start somewhere!
Consistent workouts...that's the key...never miss, and train to your potential.
Snatch much? GOD! You should fight crime.
ReplyDeleteNice work Tracy!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! You are truly inspirational!
ReplyDeleteSteph
ps..give my brother and nephew a hug!

Aaron,
ReplyDeleteJust think...if I ever practice shooting I could realy be dangerous!
Lauren,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet you in June, although Mark and I have talked about going down to San Diego soon.
Steph,
ReplyDeleteHey, wow! Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone is fine where you are...and happy!
Hi Tracy! I rarely post comments on blogs but I cannot get your accomplishment out of my head. You are spectacularly inspiring and I couldn't resist the opportunity to thank you for it. So, thank you! And, sign me out as one of your biggest fans, Cindy G.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the compliments, and taking the time to comment.
