Tuesday 1200 swings, 550 snatches

I skipped Bikram yoga this morning in exchange for cleaning my house and making some killer beef, barley, & mushroom soup in my pressure cooker, (Dang, I love my pressure cooker, and big 'ole pieces of beef that fall off of big 'ole bones, lol). I've probably been averaging 6 out of 7 days a week with my Bikram practice, so it was time to reprioritize. Cleaning up around the house gave me much more 'peace of mind'.

I did 700 swings with an 9:30am KB client, then ran home to finish some sort of workout. Here's what I did,

9:30am KB "I go, you go" style swing combinations

10 x 10 reps = 100 (5 min.)
10 x 20 reps = 200 (10 min.)
10 x 40 reps = 400 (20 min)
1 x 100 reps = 100 (1 min rest, 2.5 min set)

Total time 38.5 min w/12kg. Whoops, I guess I did 800 swings! I'm such a lousy counter!

10:45 KB 100 rep swing and snatch sets w/12kg

20 2 hand swings,
20 transfers,
10 swing / transfers (20 reps),
20 transfers,
20 2 hand swings,

100 reps, 2 1/2 min. work, 1 min rest x 5 sets alternating with 5 min snatch sets w/1 min. rest.

snatches w/12kg

15/15, 10/10, 15/15, 10/10, 15/15, (130)
10/10 x 5 (100)
10/10 x 5 (100)
10/10 x 5 (100)
10/10, 15/15, 10/10, 1515, 10/ 10, (120)

I thought I might be able to keep up the first snatch combination for all 5 sets, but it was too much, expecially with only 1 min. rest between swing/snatch sets. But after doing the math I had to "round off" the total with the last combination set.

Total workout @ home 47.5 min. 500 swings / 550 snatches
Total workout today 86 min., 1300 swings / 550 snatches, I guess I pass on my evening walk, lol!

Tracy,

I woke up this morning with a "I need to deep clean NOW" feeling. I have something stashed in every corner. Why?! LOL

I have to pull out my pressure cooker again. I have to flip through my 2 pressure cooker cookbooks to see what I'd like to create.

I'd take off from my walk too! I'm just amazed at your training sessions! I cannot wait until the day I can do that many swings and snatches. (If it ever comes, lol) Thanks for giving me something to aspire to.

BTW, I have never used a pressure cooker but your are tempting me more and more to dust off my mom's and give it a whirl.

Nothing can beat "big 'ole pieces of beef that fall off of big 'ole bones" :)))

Tamikka,

I'm on a mission to get things organized around the house so I can have you all over to cook in my kitchen...speaking of which, let's make a date!

I never look in a "pressure cooker" cookbook for idea, I look in regular cookbooks and adapt any "braising" recipe to use the PC with. I'll show you how and what I mean by that when you come over!

keturah,

My training sessions prove that I'm eating too much food! I should be skinny by now, lol!

(Butterfinger candy bar binges certainly don't help!)

And, mark my words...pressure cooking is going to be the next big thing! Especially if I have anything to do with it!

gabi,

I'm so glad I'm not a vegetarian! I love my meat, especially beef and pork!

I'll be writing a blog post about being, or not being vegetarian....any thoughts? I'd be interested in your opinion.

That's it? A bazillion swings and half a bazillion snatches?

For the record, I just want you to know that I can regularly surpass your daily numbers in about a month or so.

Aaron,

Not all of us were born studs...some of us have to actually work at it.

We're both working at it. It's just that your day = my month.
