Max Vo2 Snatch training, with the Reifkinds!

3 minutes in or so

10 minutes in, halfway. My feet started to feel numb, you can see me wiggling them!

The last 2 minutes. I lost count, and without my glasses I couldn't see the clock clearly, lol.

After my Saturday Max Vo2 snatch workout w/16kg, (the same workout that Mark did in this video), I realized that I wanted to do this workout twice a week, once with the 16kg, and one with the 12kg.

So when Mark mentioned over the weekend that this would be his Monday workout, I quickly jumped on the chance to train with him. I knew the energy would be awesome, and I knew he would totally dig it! I don't know why he resists so much, he didn't even want to tape it! I practically forced him to, and I could tell he was glad! I can't wait to do it with him again, next week. We both agreed that we could've gone another 5 min., (10 sets).

12:20 Misc. warm up for 10 min.

12:30 KB Max Vo2

15 sec on, 15 sec. rest
("I go, you go", style)w/12kg

8 reps per side x 40 sets, 20 L, 20 R = 20 min. 320 snatches

2 hand swings

16kg, 1 min. on 1 min. rest

alternated w/
20 kg, 1 min. on 1 min. rest

10 sets, (5 each) = 20 min.

bottoms up swings, 10/10/10/10, 2 min. on 1 min. rest x 2 sets = 5 min.

Total workout 55 min.

The fact that I could still count all of my reps at the end of 20 min., shows that I still had alot more in me, (I wasn't out of breath). Next time we will increase the number of sets, and I'll start out with 9 reps per 15 sec. as I often found myself completeing 8 reps in about 12-13 sec., and then I'll take the option of backing down to 8.

I wish my hubby would work out with me like this.

I love it when Aaron and I get to train together... I always make him pick the workout.

Zorbs & Fawn,

Working out with hubby was fun mainly because we were training similtaneously! I usually don't like it, because I have a hard time when he "coaches" me!

I know, I know, people pay him good money to coach them, and I can handle a correction here, a correction there, but otherwise, it's no coincidence that I train alone!

Boy, I'm going to get in trouble for that one, LOL!!!!

oh yes you are.....

Tracy, keep doing it like this and there will be no coaching. "Ahem, it's your turn to snatch."

I hear you on the coaching, Tracy. Aaron has a talent for movement, so I don't have to say much to him... however, when I wanted him to teach me Taiji... I remember feeling a certain amount of frustration. I don't really practice Taiji anymore.

I am with you Tracy and Fawn. BJ is a terrific trainer and I get all of his expertise for free, but sometimes it is hard to here what I am doing wrong/could be improved from my husband. I do listen, I just don't let him know! :)

Yup gotta chime in, Barb will not train with me most of the time bacause she doesn't like my "advice".

Thanks for giving me some validation, but it's not helping my cause!

I'm still in trouble,lol.

And they say it's the MEN who have the egos, lol. I'm surprised at the womens' attitude to tell you the truth.I don't care at all where good information comes to me from, just that it does. So I will take good advice from a total beginner if I see how I can benefit and or learn from it.
"out of the mouths of babes,eh", pun intended.
That's why I had no problem accepting that Tracy had developed a program that was far better than I ever could for fat loss, especially for women.Brilliance is brilliance and to ignore it is just plain silly to me.No matter what direction it comes from.
For you guys not to get coaching and the advantage of experienced eyes from loved ones who would like nothing better than to help you succeed is the height of folly, imho.

Ladies, He doesn't get it does he??

Good point, but, like women, it's a little more complicated!

Mark Reifkind said...

oh I get it, that is the point, lol.

Rif, amen bro! I get it too. If ANY person can improve my practice it doesn't matter who they are!! Wife, friend, enemy, companion.........

That's so cute and at the same time you two are a scary couple. ;)

And to chime in on the argument, I didn't like training with my husband (when I was married) because I didn't take instruction well from him.
