Snatching the 24kg

My hands are "tore up", lol The last set of this workout was the same as the first set of this workout....100 snatches w/12kg, 5 min set. (10/10 x 5)

set #1 10/10 x 5 w/12kg, 50 reps each side = 100
set #2 5/5 x 5 w/16kg, 25 reps each side = 50
set #3 5/5 x 2 w/20kg, 10 reps each side = 20
set #4 3/3 x 1 w/24kg, = 6 reps

Repeat sets, #2,#3,#2,#2,#2,#1

Total reps and points
w/12kg, 200 = 200 points
w/16kg, 250 = 500 points
w/20kg, 40 = 120 points
w/24kg, 6 = 30 points

Total points today 850
Running total 2770

Of the 5 sets of 50 reps with the 16kg, the last 3 were 10/10, 10/10, 5/5. I just wanted to get them done without extra transfers! The sets lasted about 2 1/2 minutes, which I feel great about, since my 16kg snatches on Friday were totally off. It must of just been a weak day for me...and I used the competition bell, which was not a good choice. No excuses though, sometimes you're "on" and sometimes you're not!

You're a rock star snatching that 24 kg!!! A GINORMOUS congrats to you!!

I don't even own a 24. I also don't have a KB hubby to cheer me on like you do. Some day I'll get my hubby to venture over to the dark side and give training a go. Until then, he just looks on in awe at my transformation and strength development.

Life is good!

Amy,

I can't wait to do it again, but "Fawn style", 5 sets of 5/5!

I did want to do another 3/3, but Mark told me to put it down!

Are you going to have me bending nails next, Adam?

Lauren,

We ARE out of control, LOL, isn't it awesome? Let's see how long it takes for the steam to let out though! It's a long way to 50,000!

Nice Tracy! If we trained together on a regular basis, we would be unstoppable! The next time you snatch the 24kg it will be easier. The first time, I was too surprised at myself to really enjoy it!

Nice job with the 24kg! Now you are only 1000 points ahead of me in the race. I better get it together.

Awesome, Tracy,
just awesome! So inspiring to see what achievements commitment and hard work of years can bring, if you really keep at it!

Fawn,

It had been so long since I had even snatches the 16kg for reps....so now that I've got that back, building up the strength for the 24 will come....I'm not worried! How much fun was that? WOO HOO!

Gabi,

I'm working on my blog post about "turning a flame into a burning fire"!

Thanks, BTW your workouts are hardcore!

You are one extremely strong and fit person!

There does not seem to be any limit to your achievements especially in light of how systematically you have build up your base over the years.

Tracy Reifkind said...

Franklin,

What I like about my style of KB's so much is they give me the opportunity to train as hard as my body can, while allowing me to back off and avoid injuries. I know how hard I can push, and I'm smart enough, most of the time, to not take it past safety.

Like this workout...I was definitely tempted to keep going with that 24kg...but it'll be there, waiting, another time!

That is hilarious that Mark told you to put it down. BJ does the same thing. I just get such a rush when I work with heavy weights. I am sure you do too!

Tracy,
you make me curious!

As for my workouts, thanks, you'd never guess who I get the ideas from... ;)

WOW! 24kg is no joke! Keep it up girl!

Kori,

I can't say that I get a rush, it's more that I get on "a roll"! Santching the 24kg wa awesome...now, reviewing the video, I know how I need to make my form adjustments. Next time multiple sets, (like Fawn!)

Gabi,

As soon as you suggested the topic, I knew right away what you meant by "flicker to flame". I'm sure you'll agree with what I have to say. It's just that I'm going to have to break it up into a few parts. The main post, here on Rediscovering Strength, and then I'll break it down on into some smaller blog posts, an Food and Thought.

And yes, your workout ideas are familiar to me! Thank you for giving me so much credit! I really wish now I would have made arrangemnts to go to Denmark with Mark...maybe next year! Or maybe you can come here and assist at a US Cert?

Tracy Reifkind said...

Franz,

I'm not only keeping it up, but I'm trying to keep up! Lots of women, including Yoanna, constantly raising the bar!

Gabi said...

Tracy,

it is not the Denmark one, but the weekend after in Budapest. Mark says he can't come either :(
But I really hope there will come an occasion, whenever, wherever, it would be great!

As for the posts, I'm really looking forward to them, this is a topic that keeps my mind busy a lot.
